Hydrate

Hot summer days and summer time activities require your body to need more hydration.

Your body depends on water to survive. Every cell, tissue, and organ in your body needs water to work properly. For example, your body uses water to maintain its temperature, remove waste, and lubricate your joints.

How much you water you need to stay hydrated depends on a number of different factors. Age, gender, weight, climate you are in, activity levels, and overall health all influence your individual needs. Everybody is unique and the amount you need is different than someone else. Learn to find the right balance for yourself.

It’s always important to stay hydrated but in the summer you often lose more water and therefor need to uptake your intake.

Drinking water is the best way to stay hydrated. Other options include, Gatorade, coconut water, milk, tea. Soup, stew, broth, oatmeal, watermelon, Jell-O, grapefruit, grapes, fruit juice, smoothies, and lettuce greens, are good sources as well. Surprisingly a hamburger and chicken breast are also alternative options to help you stay hydrated.

If drinking water isn’t your thing, combine drinks with food choices to Stay Hydrated.
