Lemonade & Iced Tea

It’s time to make lemonade and iced tea.

Iced tea and lemonade bring to mind summer time, relaxing in the shade,

The saying goes, “When life gives you lemons, make lemonade” to encourage optimism and a positive can-do attitude in the face of adversity or misfortune. Lemons suggest sourness or difficulty in life; making lemonade is turning them into something positive or desirable.

So anytime you feel like life is dragging your down or you just can’t get going, make some lemonade. The process of turning something that is sour into something sweet and enjoyable will help you remember that you are capable of turning whatever lemons in your life into something you can enjoy.

Find a sunny or shady spot, sit down, relax a bit and enjoy a glass of lemonade. Let the refreshing drink fill you with the knowledge that everything will turn out just fine.

Or if you prefer just make some iced tea. Iced Tea first became popular in 1904 at the World’s Fair in St. Louis as a way to cool down in the heat. It has been associated with summertime and summer heat ever since.

So cool down with an iced tea. You can make a simple black iced tea, you can sweeten it with sugar or honey or you can add lemon.

You can add fruit, peach, strawberries, lemon, lime, raspberries, or cherries.

Stray from the traditional black tea to green tea or any of the varieties of herbal teas.
