Growing Roots

Growing Roots

Roots are what hold us steady. Through all the growing and changing and blooming and blossoming we need to have strong steady roots.

Your roots are more than just yourself. Your roots consist of the past. Everything you have done throughout your life have formed your roots. Roots are found in history and your lineage.

What roots did you come into this world with? What roots did you grow as you grew?

What characteristics and attributes make you strong and grow? Where did they come from?

Examine your roots.

Examine your family roots. What did you inherit from family members? Who in your life inspired you? Where did you get that confidence to take risks? Where did you get that fear that holds you back?

Take some time and look at family photos. Look at pictures of yourself at different ages. What do you see? When where you happy? When were you brave? Look at family pictures of family members. Who are you most life? Who do you admire?

Recreate your version of yourself. Let go of any root-rot. Anything that is not giving you strong roots let go of. You don’t have to own anything that was someone else’s fear.

Grab hold of the inspirations, the courage, and the happiness. Gather it all up and know that your roots are strong.

Our foundation comes from all different sources but we can strengthen our foundation by weeding out what isn’t us and seeing where we have gathered our strongest attributes and characteristics and allow them to grow.

Our past can hold us back but it can also give us strong roots to move forward.

With these strong roots make sure you leave room to create your own strong roots. Don’t get pot bound by the roots of the past. Give them space to grow into allowing you to blossom into your own life.
