Recapture Wonder and Awe
Wonder is a feeling of curiosity to know something or about something, or of admiration or amazement, or astonishment. To wonder also means to meditate upon, ponder or question something.
When you are in awe of something you are amazed or inspired. Awe is a feeling of experience something vast –beyond what we have/could imagine that challenges our understanding of the world.
When was the last time you experienced wonder and/or awe?
In childhood, you most probably experiences wonder and awe about things that you now take for granted. What were some of your young experiences where you remember feeling wonder and awe?
As an adult you are still capable of feeling that ‘childlike wonder and awe.’
Experiencing wonder and awe has a direct link to critical thinking as it makes us what to know and learn more about the world around us.
You don’t have to go off on some adventure to rediscover the feelings of wonder and awe, you just have to look around you with an open mind.
You can find wonder and awe in nature, household chores, art, music, movies, books, in your neighborhood, in other people, in the way machine functions. Wonder and Awe are all around you every day. It is a matter of seeing it through the eyes of an open mind and open possibilities.
