Go for a Drive

Go for a Drive

Spring is a great time to take a drive.

We most often get in the car and drive from where we are to our destination on autopilot. We get caught up in the getting to the destination.

Life gets lost in the drive. To discover life take what was known as a “Sunday Drive” but you can take it on any day at all.

Pick an afternoon or a whole day. Leisure and aimless are the words that you should be steering in. Your guide is the scenery, the signs, the things you see along the way.

Dress up or dress down. In the heyday of Sunday drives, everyone was dressed in the best because you never knew where you might end of and who you might see.

Relax, slow down, and no stressing about the traffic. You are in no rush.

Focus on the scenery around you. If you see something interesting pull over and check it out. Stop at produce stands, ice cream shops, and yard sales, historical sites, old houses, a park, a river running along the road or a beach.

Maybe you will find yourself along a mountain trail or a horse farm. Whatever it is take in the beauty the splendor.

Maybe you will find yourself in a little town that is full of charm. Stop and find a pot to sit, people watch or explore the downtown shops.

See an interesting sign for a yard sale or an interesting place then turn down and follow the sign. See where the road leads you.

Stop for a picnic or at a roadside eatery.

Your life is a drive through the experiences, the places, and the people whom you meet along your journey. Let life be an open road. Be open to new experiences, new opportunities, and undiscovered paths along the way.

Don’t keep to the main roads. Go Exploring. Be Adventurous. Don’t be afraid of getting lost!
