Progress Not Perfection

Progress Not Perfection

Moving forward and taking one step at a time doesn’t mean that you will always know exactly what to do or that need to do it perfectly. The right step, done the right way at the right time is not what is important. It is taking action, taking steps, trying something and then evaluating it.

Sometimes you won’t have any idea is something is right for you or will move you closer to your goal or dream unless you try. If it is not right you will know and guide you towards something that will work or is right.

Learning is the process of living. Learning is the process of discovering what is right for you and what isn’t. Life is an ongoing process. You are always evolving, moving forward and plugging away.

When you require perfection of yourself you never really move forward. You stagnant. The goal if anything is to make progress. It doesn’t matter how big, how much and certainly not if it is perfect or not.

When you make a choice in the present moment from your heart it will always lead you to the next step you need even if that step is ruling a direction or action, or dream or choice out.

Perfection is an excuse you use from taking a chance, from looking foolish, or from being judged by someone else or just plain fear.

Requiring perfection of yourself keeps you from creating and being fully and abundantly in your life. Fix flaws that you can fix, relax and move on.

Focusing on progress helps keep you motivated to keep moving forward.  Each time you make progress it lifts your spirits, and gives you little celebrations of success along the way.

It encourages the process of learning rather than failure or not doing it ‘good enough’. Mistakes, missteps and even failure isn’t failure at all. It is a kind of progress in and of itself. It helps you see something in a different way or discover a better solution or even a goal.

Small steps of progress will move you closer to your goals and dreams. Before you realize it you have reached a milestone or accomplished a goal.
