A Year of Daily Inspirational Thoughts

February Winter Blues

February

Winter has settled in. Cold chills are blowing. You wonder if all this dreaming was practical. You feel the need to cuddle in your home and take care of yourself, to let all these thoughts ideas and dreams marinate.  In order to move forward into these big Dreams you must prepare for the spring. A mix of hibernation and self-care. Catch new insights, open to new ideas, see glimmers of hope, define your vision. Preparing your body, mind and spirit for the journey of being and creating all you dream of. Clearing out the old so the new can come in opening doors for your ideas. Creating an environment where your dreams can have a healthy place to grow and bloom.

Winter Blues

Winter Blues often begin setting in about now if they haven’t already. We are anxious for spring, for warm weather and new growth. Yet the days still seem cold. Our spirits are low. The highs of the start of the New Year with all its excited hopes for the future often begin to blur. We sink down into the doldrums of everyday life.

It is a time when you can focus on taking care of yourself. You should think of this time as a time to find comfort. To find comfort in the simple joys of life. Have some times of rest, cuddle up and enjoy those simple pleasures, hot cocoa, warm blankets, reading by a roaring fire.

Or if you are adventurous, go ice skating, skiing, snowboarding, and sledding if you live where there is snow sports.

I am not a winter person although once upon a time I enjoyed ice skating and then enjoying a wonderful cup of hot chocolate afterwards.

Now I rather cuddle in my comforter and read, or write, or work on my vision board. For me winter is a perfect time for some rest and relaxation. To stay home and take care of myself.

You don’t need to be doing any major action steps yet, because you are letting it all blend and stir within. It is a time for serenity and pleasure. Preparing your mind, body and spirit for the journey ahead.  It is a time for rest and contentment before you venture out into the world to create your vision.

Do you like the winter time? Are you a winter person out enjoying the cold, and cold weather sports? Or is winter move of a hungering down staying in side, sipping hot tea, taking naps, reading, watching movies, or organizing and redoing things around the house.

Make a list of five things you like about the winter. Why do you like them? How do they make you feel?

Make some time to do one of them today.
