Do Something Nice For Yourself

 

When was the last time you did something nice for someone? When was the last time you did something nice for yourself? It seems you are always doing nice things for others isn’t it time you did something nice for yourself?

Doing something nice for yourself may not come easy at first. It may feel selfish. It may feel like you are taking time from something you think you should be doing.

Doing something nice for yourself will make you a happier healthier person. So when you feel guilty for taking time for something nice for yourself remember that.

If you were going to do something nice for yourself what would it be? Do you even know?

Doing something nice for yourself doesn’t necessarily mean buying something for yourself or going out to eat or getting a massage or having your hair done. Though if any of those are something you would love and have denied yourself then go ahead.

Doing something nice for yourself may just be being kind and compassionate to yourself. Make a point to stop negative talk to yourself or beating yourself up for not accomplishing everything on your list.

Stop when you are feeling rushed or upset and take some deep breathes and release any stress and be compassionate to yourself.

Take a walk, step outside and look at the sky. Watch the sunrise before the day starts or watch the sunset at the end of the day. Give yourself a few minutes to just be.

Make a habit of doing something nice for yourself at least once a week, every day is better. Mix it up between material gifts, kindness, compassion and experiences that will make you happy and/or enhance your well-being.

What matters is whatever you do gives you peace of mind, calms you, or gives you a moment of joy.

Doing something nice for yourself helps you feel appreciated and loved.  

Doing something nice for yourself has mental, emotional and spiritual benefits. It affects how your body feels, how you think and feel not just about yourself but about your life.

Kindness and compassion are two of the nicest things you can do for yourself. So when you do something nice for yourself make sure you are being kind and compassionate to yourself.
