Kindness

 

Kindness is being considerate, generous, compassionate and friendly. Everyone deserves kindness including yourself.

Kindness begins with being kind to yourself and then out to everyone else.

Being kind should be natural but many people are not kind to themselves and therefor kindness doesn’t flow through them to others. For some being kind to others is easy but being kind to themselves is not.

What does kindness mean to you? How do you show kindness to yourself? to others?

Kindness is often just simple acts such as letting someone go in line before you, holding a door open for someone who has their hands full, paying someone a compliment, helping someone complete a task, clean up a mess or pick up trash, or just simple say thank you.

Kindness is does not just impact the other person. Being kind impacts you. Being kind and helpful to others increases your happiness.

Start by being kind to yourself. Then reach out and do an act of kindness for a family member and/or a friend. Finally reach out and do a random act of kindness for a stranger. How did it make you feel to be kind?
